Shahi Mughal chicken is a one-of-a-kind meal of the Mughal Empire’s nobility. It was primarily provided when a foreign delegation came to visit the country. With the 18th century, British officials paid a visit to the Mughal emperor in the hope of gaining economic favour in India. They were served Shahi Mughal Chicken, as per the emperor’s specific request. They were blown away by the flavour, aroma, and simplicity. As a result, people inquired about the excellent Shahi Mughal Chicken’s recipe. As a result of your fondness for chicken, my forefathers obtained that recipe from the English officers. And eventually, that recipe made its way down to me. I shared this dish with the world because I am a very modest person. So, let’s have some fun with the Shahi Mughal Chicken.
1.5 kg Desi Chicken boneless with small meat pieces
200g Desi Ghee
4 green chili
½: tablespoon coriander seeds
½: tablespoon cumin seeds
1/2: teaspoon paprika
1/2: teaspoon cardamom seeds (not the pods)
3: whole cloves
1: Cups water
¼: teaspoon salt
¼: teaspoon ground cinnamon
2: garlic Paste
½: tablespoon paste of root ginger
For the first 20 minutes, marinade the chicken meat. In a mud pot over medium heat, melt the Desi ghee. Cook for about 30 seconds after adding the hot cumin seeds.
After 30 seconds, add the garlic and ginger paste, followed by the chilli flakes, paprika, ground turmeric, ground cumin, and ground coriander. The blend has a spicy scent that will entice you to try it.
Mix in the meat and a few spices thoroughly. Stir in the base, then add the water and bring the mixture to a boil. Cover and boil for 30 minutes, then add the lemon slices and green coriander and cook for another 3 minutes before adding the yoghurt and stirring gently.
Reduce the sauce/curry to the appropriate thickness once it has been cooked. To taste, season with salt. You must arrange the tandoori roti before serving since it enhances the flavour of the traditional roti and Shahi Mughal chicken.
